The Whiteland Soccer Club is ran soley by volunteer efforts and as such we require parent involvement to help
provide all the necessary requirements needed to have a successful season. As such, we ask that each parent volunteer
two hours per season in the following areas: field maintenance, concessions, and field marshaling. Participating in
any one of these activities counts as one hour towards to required two.
Field maintenance involves repainting the fields due to normal wear-n-tear from practicing and games. We provide all
the necessary equipment and you provide the time. Having fields painted on a regular basis improve the quality of playing
for the kids when the lines are clearly visible.
To help offset registration costs and eliminate troublesome fundraisers, we are going to be offering a concessions tent
beginning spring 2008. We will stock healthy drinks and snacks and possibly common equipment items such as socks and shin guards.
By volunteering to run the concessions tent you will be helping us to raise money for the club as well as provide needed
refreshments for parents and players.
Also beginning in the spring of 2008, we are going to be implementing field marshals. These are people that will be easily
recognizable and radio-equipped to assist with any need that arises during games. There will be multiple field marshals assigned
per game day as there is a lot of area to be covered. There will always be a board member present for the field marshals to
turn to in the event of emergency or delicate situations. Providing a visible person that can be utilized in a moment's notice
will help keep games running smoothly, ensure the safety of our children, and allow parents and guests to enjoy this wonderful game.
